There is a recurring rumor that Ford will release a 2014 ½ model year version of the upcoming sixth generation Mustang to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the series and thus pay homage to the first Mustang introduced in April of 1964, which is referred to as a "1964½" model by fans of the car.
