With the brand new generation of the Corolla that was presented earlier this month, Toyota followed a bolder strategy in terms of the car's design and features to counter threats from other Asian as well as European and even American brands.
As it stands, there's only a sedan version of the Corolla, while Toyota has no current plans for replacing the Matrix hatchback , which pegs the question whether the company should offer more body styles in North America, like many of its competitors – i.e. Honda sells the Civic in Sedan and Coupe iterations, while Ford offers the Focus in Sedan and Hatchback flavors.
