If you haven’t heard, Toronto, Canada's largest city and home to around 2.7 million people, was flooded last night after a severe thunderstorm poured more than a month's worth of rain in a few hours. While the average rainfall for July in Toronto is 71 mm (2.8 inches), more than 90mm (3.54 inches) fell into the city on Monday - according to CTV News , there was a record-breaking 126 mm of rain at Pearson Airport.
Naturally, all that rain falling in such a short period resulted in flash floods all over the city, catching many drivers by surprise, some of whom were stranded in the waters.
